It’s going to be a new year, which means a new us! We make all sorts of promises to ourselves about the things we’ll do: we’re going to eat healthier, we’re going to work out more, we’re going to spend less time on social media, and so on. In short, we’re going to become better versions of ourselves.
After working for the firm for nearly six years, I was left with two choices: either work for another firm or work for myself. I chose the latter rather quickly after balancing the pros and cons.
To my fellow working Latinas — don’t be shy. Review your last pay raise, do some research as to what your wages should be, and sit down with management to request a pay increase!
As I write this final President’s Message of 2020, I am filled with gratitude and optimism.
This year has been like no other in our lifetime. Many, many dark and tragic events came to the forefront of our collective consciousness. But, out of darkness comes light.
